Nicole Sheindlin is the co-founder, CEO, and driving force behind Her Honor Mentoring, an innovative mentoring program that connects female high school students with local women who are leaders within their respective professions. Nicole co-founded Her Honor Mentoring with her stepmother, The Honorable Judith Sheindlin, star of the syndicated “Judge Judy” show and Amazon Prime’s “Judy Justice”. Over the past 18 years, the founders have devoted their time and energies to building a groundbreaking initiative that combines mentoring and philanthropy. More than 1,750 women have participated in Her Honor since its inception.
Nicole is a partner at Mentzer and Sheindlin, LLP, a private practice law firm that focuses on criminal and civil litigation at the trial and appellate level. She is a former senior staff attorney at the Legal Aid Society’s Criminal Defense Division in Bronx County, where she handled all phases of criminal litigation for felonies and misdemeanors, from arraignment to trial.
Nicole speaks frequently to companies and organizations on the topics of mentoring and supporting women and girls. Nicole has been recognized as a New York State Senate Woman of Distinction; other accolades include the Champion of Human Rights Award from the Westchester County Human Rights Commission and the Community Champion Award in Education and Literacy from Volunteer New York.
Nicole also holds a J.D. from New York Law School and a B.A. from The State University of New York at Buffalo. She resides with her husband, three children, a dog, two cats, and a tortoise in Larchmont, N.Y.
