Kayla Fagan from Mount Vernon High School plays an important role in her mentorship at Westchester Children’s Association with her mentor Allison Lake the Executive Director. Westchester Children’s Association’s mission is to improve the lives of the youth in Westchester. Kayla plays a vital role in her mentorship because she provides a unique perspective as a young woman from Mount Vernon. Her mentor, Allison remarks that “It is important for us to have a youth voice in all our work”.
Kayla enjoys the feeling of being appreciated at WCA, “I am able to be a part of meetings, which is really cool because they care about my opinion”... Allison shares that “The Westchester Children’s Association staff is enjoying having Kayla available to offer feedback on our work”.
